Arizona 2008

We had another great time in Arizona visiting Grandma Sharon and Grandpa Al. The first day we were there it was cloudy and cool (70's) but the next four days were sunny and warm (90's). It was great to get away and spend time with family (who we miss very much):) We ventured out to the Arizona Gardens and had a beautiful tour through the desert and got to see lots of big cactus and a few critters.

This was Karly's favorite cactus with the "twisted arms".

Nathan checking out the mountain.

As most of you know, Joe has a major "bird phobia" but with the help of my mother he was able to finally or maybe just temporarily over come his fear of birds. After a few Coronas Joe let little Paco perch on his shoulders for a short time...I still can't believe Joe did this...this is the man who jumped out of a moving car after a bird flew through our sunroof!! I am very proud of my husband!!

Grandma and Karly used a black light to go on a scorpion hunt...unfortunately they were unable to find any live scorpions, however the next day Grandpa found two dead ones.

We were able to celebrate Karly's 8th birthday a couple weeks early. She celebrated with a huge pinata and had a Hawaiian party.

The kids sipping on a tropical fruit punch drink that Grandpa Al made for them.

Karly helped Grandma Sharon decorate a yummy ice-cream birthday cake.

We went to a Peach festival and took a hay ride out into the peach fields and picked fresh peaches...we picked a ton of peaches...I'm sure Grandma and Grandpa will be eating peaches for quite some time!

There were some rides at the Peach festival and of course the kids wanted to go on them. Nathan is afraid of heights so he chose the broken airplane that didn't go up in the air.

Karly is much more brave and chose the rollar coaster...she is in the brown shirt right behind the guy in the white T-shirt....check out her facial expression!
The kids having a fun time swimming in the pool.

Our trip was wonderful and we can't wait to go back again...we are again wondering..."why do we live in Wisconsin?" Thanks grandma and grandpa for the wonderful memories!!

It was fun to see your trip. I will try to bring up your blog at home and then take it to Con & Al for them to see what they are missing :).

Wow--looks like a fun trip! I would have loved to sit like a lizzard in that HOT sun! Wish we could see some of that here in WI! Karly was sure brave to go scorpion hunting--and Joe was brave, too, to let the little birdie sit on his shoulder. Way to go, Joe! :-)

We love all your comments!!!
